#PrayforManchester

Hey guys, Unfortunately on the 22nd of May 2017 Manchester was hit with its worst terror attack to date. This all happened at around 22:30 outside an Ariana Grande concert where a suicide bomber where there was 22 killed and 120 injured. It's so hard to think that terrorism is happening so close to where I grew up. Whenever you hear it happening anywhere else you sort of distance yourself from it but it's so hard to do when it's happened somewhere you've been, somewhere you live, somewhere you know. And for this to have occurred at and Ariana Grande concert where many young people would be is just sick. I don't see what kind of cheap thrill they would get out of this. So hears a big well done to ISIS who are officially the scum of the earth, the worst in humanity. I don't see how you can do all of this especially in the name of a religion. My thoughts are with all of those who were affected and who have lost loved ones in the explosion. #prayformanchester❤️

Define, normal...

Normal. How would you define it? Is normal going to the shop and buying a pint of milk or ordering takeout? How can we say what is normal and what isn't when everyone has a different story, a different path. When we say the words 'normal' we think of our routine and decide on whether our day was normal compared to others, but we also say that normal is thing we would never end up doing. What is a normal life? Must you have 2 parents together and always around, your sibling in the next room and a great school where you have friends and get good grades before going off to college to continue the cycle. Then you leave for uni and get a 9 to 5 job. Does that sound normal to you? That you never run into any problems and that everyone is in a privileged home with a loving family. What do I think is normal? I think there's no such thing. Everyone has their own uniqueness and no matter how much someone would want to conform to societies idea of 'normal' they wouldn

Tim Burton's Top 5

Image
Hey guys Have you ever wondered which of Tim Buton's movies over his 30 year career is his best? If you've seen them then you'll know it is VERY difficult to chose. Between Nightmare Before Christmas and Sweeney Todd you have a lot of variety in one directors history. So let's get into it then you can have the best Tim Burton marathon ever!!! 5. Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children If you've read my last post about this film then you'll know I love it as long as I don't think about the book. This features actors Asa Butterfield and Eva Green who work amazingly together to create a fantasy film that you question the reality of.  4. Beetlejuice This film was the launch of Burton's career. The story follows a couple who have been killed and have become ghosts and now they have to scare away the family who are coming into their home, however things don't quite go to plan. Great family movie with lovable characters and an

Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children: Book Vs. Movie

[ SPOILERS THRO UGHOUT ] S M L If you've seen the Miss Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children film adaptation directed by Tim Burton then you'll know how well put together it is. We get to see these amazing characters with amazing abilities that allow us to embrace our differences. However, if you've read the original book then you'll be very annoyed with how much it has been changed.  Personally I watched the film before I read the book and thought the film was a master piece, one of Burton's best movies. I loved the characters and felt that Asa Butterfield was a perfect casting for Jacob (the main character). I especially loved the ending in Blackpool as it is a place that I am personally familiar with and have been since I was a child, it was the film that made me want to read the book! But when I read the book I was left feeling more than slightly baffled. For some reason they

What's in my bag?

Image
Hey guys! So I thought I'd do something a little different today. I was on YouTube (like you do) and I decided to jump on the old trend train and do a 'what's in my bag' blog because why not.  Okay so this is my bag. It's the Zoella On My Travels lifestyle bag which I got in a gift set for £50 from Boots. I absolutely love this bag like it is the perfect colour to go with any outfit and I adore the peachy/apricot colour on the inside. I feel like it just looks really fresh. The only major fault I would say it has is that it doesn't have a zip pocket inside for your phone or anything that you need easy access to. But apart from that it is great. In my bag I have a hell of a lotta stuff. It's actually weird the amount of different things I have and  half of them I didn't even know I had in there. So in my bag I have: A Me To You bear umbrella - because in the UK, it almost always rains!!! (Plus its really cute) Purse - I love this purse

Short story - conflict

I look around for no more than a moment and I am struck with awe at the fascinating people and places around me.  No peace lies in the busy streets of the city; and no chaos in the grass filled fields of the countryside. Both places brimming with different cultures, ethnicity's and individuals despite being neighbours. Two places unique in their own right engage in conflict because of me. I sometimes sit and look across the river that divides the two worlds and watch the murky rubbish-filled water struggle to pass on. The tide of lilly pads lining the banks with nowhere to go. On one side is a simple life and on the other is a technologically advanced one. Both the same yet too different to coexist.
